Movin’ On Up

To quote The Jefferson’s theme song of the 70’s/80’s, we are movin’ on up!!

Oakridge Physiotherapy is moving to its new location on Monday, March 30– open at 7am.

Our new location is at 6317 Cambie Street, just a couple blocks south of our old location.

This move has been over 2 years in the making.  We are excited about this next phase in our business as we work to provide the best service to our clients.  We are expanding our physical space with more treatment rooms and a larger exercise area and we are also expanding our service delivery with the hiring of more physiotherapists, massage therapists, and expanding our pedorthic services.

Our new facility is state-of-the art and will provide a welcoming and friendly environment along with audio-visual entertainment to enhance our client experience.  We are also providing a more technologically advanced practice for all of our practitioners as we also venture into the world of Electronic Medical Records (EMR).  This is a big shift for our practice as we try to keep up with the ever changing world of technology.  We hope that in the future this will help generate enhanced communications with clients and their health care team through greater integration with the health care system.  Exciting times indeed!

Logistically, for ease of access for our clients there will be readily available parking at the Oakridge Baptist Church next door to us in designated spots, street parking on the west side of Cambie Street until 3pm Mon to Fri and 2 hour free parking on Ash Street, just west of Cambie and off of West 49th, with an accessible walkway over to our building.

We are looking forward to expanding our space and services to better serve our clients now and in the future.  Have a look below at our progress thus far.

Truly,

Jason Coolen and Steve Mah
Proud Owners and Physiotherapists

Adolescence is a critical time for physical development—and with growth comes the risk of injury. At Oakridge Physiotherapy Centre, we often treat adolescent growth plate injuries, which can result from rapid development, sports, or overuse. This blog highlights the unique challenges faced during growth spurts and how physiotherapy plays a vital role in safe, effective recovery.

Our team specializes in treating injuries such as Osgood-Schlatter disease, Sever’s disease, and other growth plate–related concerns using evidence-based physiotherapy. We incorporate gentle strengthening, stretching, and mobility training to protect developing joints and bones. Treatments may include massage therapy and electrotherapy when appropriate for pain relief and tissue healing.

With a focus on long-term wellness, our experienced team provides education for both youth and parents, ensuring proper rest, training habits, and injury prevention strategies. Our care plans are always personalized to support the unique needs of growing bodies.

If your teen is experiencing pain during or after physical activity, don’t wait. Visit our services page to learn more, or contact us to book an appointment. Oakridge Physiotherapy is here to help young athletes stay active and move safely through every stage of growth.
